RuckHeads Tour Club Announces New Site and Upcoming Tour to Brazil
June 9, 2009, Denver, CO –The RuckHeads Tour Club, dedicated to
supporting rugby players and fans around the world, has launched a new
website (www.ruckheadstourclub.com). RuckHeads enables individual
players, supporters or partial clubs to combine, allowing them the
opportunity to play and/or watch rugby around the world.
Last spring, Scott Poindexter hooked up with is old rugby buddies from
around the globe and played in an over 35, 10's tournament run by
Melrose, Scotland Rugby Club in coordination with their world famous
Melrose 7's tournament. Sevens was founded in 1883 in Melrose yet in
2008 was the first time the Melrose Rugby 7's tournament had a vet division
playing 10's.
Scott’s long-time friend Chris Thomson, who has played with Melrose for the
past 10 years, as an individual coordinated much of the ground work in
Scotland for us, and to say the least, Scott got a firsthand look at how much
work and effort events like this create for an individual or club. “I realized
that most smaller clubs don’t have the funds, coordinators, or even enough
players, within their club to organize and financially put on a tour of their
own”, says Scott. “so I decided to turn those frustrations into a business
opportunity.”
Seeing all the work Chris did for the Scotland tour along with his hands on
experience with his D2 club, Scott decided to contact other clubs to see
about their experiences herding the cats. What he found was an even
larger number of individual ruggers, supporters and clubs that don’t have
the time or money to coordinate such a tour. With most tour companies
expecting an entire side from one local, there just isn’t enough support out
there for the individual player, supporter or smaller club who wants to take
a tour to play and /or watch rugby around the globe. One rugger Scott
spoke to said he had sent well over 500 emails trying to help coordinate just
one tour to Chile last year. So Scott started researching the internet finding
only large tour companies or those specializing in very few and certain
countries. Remember there are over 100 countries playing Rugby. So not all
countries were covered and again those companies specialized in serving
complete clubs typically.
That's when he started the RuckHeads Tour Club
(www.ruckheadstourclub.com) and has been having a blast ever
since, "Helping Rugby Fanatics Tour the World". So if your club or rugby
buddies never get it together to do a tour, RuckHeads Tour Club is the place
for you. The club’s mission is to bring together individual players,
supporters and/or partial teams--from anywhere--coordinate/organize them
into a full team, then tour playing and/or watching rugby around the world.
RuckHeads Tour Club will match you up with other ruggers/partial teams
and make your rugby travel desires a reality. What better way to meet new friends in rugby and travel the world playing/watching rugby with the best
people in the world? Ruggers!. If you have a location you want to tour, yet
need more numbers, give us a shout to help you make it happen. Even if
you’re not looking to travel until 2010 or beyond, sign up now and we’ll get
you on the list. Spaces are usually limited so don’t delay. The tour club is

RuckHeads Tour Club handles all the organization and coordination so all
